How to make the most of your showroom visit
January is a time when many people want to refresh their homes as they enter the new year. Whether that’s with a total renovation or not we know that it can be a minefield of knowing where to start. When it comes to kitchens, there is a lot to consider, and although there is an abundance of information online, sometimes physically going to a store or showroom is the best way to get a real idea of what you want and understand what is available. Online vision boards are great for initial inspiration as there is so much out there, but being able to see the products in person allows you to ensure they are right for you and get a real look and feel for any materials and products.
So, if you are someone who is deciding to take a trip to a kitchen or design showroom, it’s important that you make the most of your visit. We’ve put together some of our top tips on how to ensure you come away from your visit with the information you need to make the right decisions!
Come armed with questions
The great thing about visiting a showroom is that there are people there, on hand, to offer advice and share their expertise with you. So, think about what you want to know and anything you’re unsure of. Remember, no question is a stupid question and we want to help you, so ask away!
Not only will speaking to the designers in the showroom answer any questions you may have, but they can also guide you in the right direction of what exactly you should be looking at or for. If you have a rough idea of what you’re looking for, they can then ensure you’re not missing out on anything in the showroom. Additionally, sometimes there are new products coming soon or in the pipeline, which may not be online yet, so speaking to the experts can get you the best products and prices for your kitchen renovation.
Although it’s not always possible, if you do know your budget it’s a good idea to share this with the designers in the showroom. By knowing the budget they are able to advise you on what is available within your price range.
Take your time
Don’t rush your visit, take time to look at what’s on offer, speak to the experts and take everything in. If you’re thinking of redesigning your whole kitchen, it’s not an easy decision to make so spend as much time as you need to take inspiration and get a feel for what you want. So, visit the showroom on the day you have time to really look at the styles, colours and designs available.
Take pictures
Document your trip to the showroom! It’s so easy to think you’ll remember the colours, brands and designs you like, but three months down the line you may completely forget or remember something differently. Take pictures of everything, and this way you don’t have to decide anything on the day, but you can look back and take your time with any decisions. By taking your own pictures you can also add these to any vision boards you may have already started.
Consider making an appointment
Although our experts are on hand for all customers in the showroom, if you want to make the most of your visit and you know when you’ll be coming by, you can always book an appointment. By booking an appointment you know we’ll be able to assist you right away. Additionally, anything that you know before your visit that you can share with us, we can prepare for your visit!
